Walter P. Latshaw, 84, of Leesport, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 5th, at Berks Heim Nursing Home.
Walter was born in Reading, PA on August 28, 1933, a son of the late Harry J., Sr. and Martha F. (Jeznach) Latshaw.
Walter served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal, in the honor guard, which one of his duties was to protect the President of the United States. He retired in 1992 from Dana Corporation as a Straightner after 40 years. Walter was involved with Northwest A.A. youth organization, where he coached baseball and football for many years. He was a former board member of Bellco Federal Credit Union and served as the treasurer of the Dana Steelworkers Union. He also was a member and usher at St. Margaret's Catholic Church. Walter enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and Duke University, along with going fishing and spending time with his entire family at Spring Grove honoring a long time family tradition.
Walter was the beloved husband of 65 years of Dolores C. (Zaorski) Latshaw, loving and devoted father of Michael Latshaw of Reading, PA, Brian Latshaw and his wife Carin of Wernersville, PA, Thomas Latshaw and his wife Isis of Leesport, PA, and Bruce Latshaw and his wife Catherine of Fogelsville, PA, brother of Mary Zaorski and her husband Norman, Stella Wolf and her husband Michael, Martha Hoffman and her husband Roger, all of Reading, PA, Kathleen Lucas and her husband George of Jacksonwald, PA, the late Gertrude Rothrock, Joseph Latshaw and Harry Latshaw, Jr., proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 11th from 9:30am to 11:00am at St. Margaret Catholic Church, 925 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am.

Internment will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery Reading, PA at a later date.
