Dennis Olson Obituary
Dennis J. Olson, born August 20,1936 in Crookston, MN passed peacefully in his home on May 16, 20026. He was the son of the late Alf and Marie (Kulper) Olson of Crookston and West St. Paul, MN.
He was the husband of Judith M. Wagner Olson and the would have celebrated 66 years of marriage in September.
He completed his GED at Reading High School, coming out in the top 2% in the nation. He continued his education, as a non traditional student at RACC with a BSA, and at Alvernia University with a BA; making Honors at each.
A disabled Army veteran, he served his country during the the occupation of Germany. He was in the trucking business his entire life; first in Minneapolis, then Chicago and Reading. He retired as the Safety Director for Carlos R. Leffler, Inc., Richland, PA. A member of the Board of Directors of the PA Motor Trucking Association, he was one of the first independent 3rd party CDL Testers for the state. He was also CFO of the former JM Olson Travel, Shillington.
The highlight of his life was his family and traveling with his Honey. He is survived by his wife Judith "Judy" and two children, Kimberly M., widow of Richard Blimline, Reading and John D., husband of Cynthia (Rathman), Middletown, DE. Also grandson, James D. Kramer and wife, Nora and great grandchildren, Jason and Joyce, Arlington, VA; granddaughter, Nicole M. Ellis, Esq, wife of Richard B. Ellis III and great grandchildren, Blair and Chloe, Gladwyn, PA; granddaughter, Maggie Olson Tamm, wife of Andrew Tamm, Franklin, KY and great granddaughter, Frankie, and granddaughter, Rachel M. Olson, Philadelphia. He is also survived by sisters, Ardis Cashman, MN and Lucretia Nelson, CAand brother, Dean Olson, MN. He was predeceased by his brother, Darold Olson and sister, LaVonne Williams.
Services will be private for the immediate family.
