John William Jacobs, 83, of Shillington, PA, passed away at 7:49 AM, Sunday, December 10th, at his residence. .

John was born in Reading,, PA on September 3, 1934, a son of the late Lydia (Kissinger) and Paul A Jacobs, Sr

He was the husband of Peggy L. (Shenk) Jacobs, They were married for 60 years.

He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC in the Korean War.

He worked as a Truck Driver at Bob White/Barta Reading., for 40 Years

In addition to his wife, Peggy, John is survived by a daughter, Krista A, wife of Jerry Greenwalt, of Laureldale, PA and

four sons James M. Jacobs, husband of Sherry, of Shoemakersville,PA; Randall A Jacobs, husband of Robin, of Newmanstown, PA; Robert W Jacobs, of Laureldale, PA; David L Jacobs husband of Brenda , of Leesport, PA. John is also survived by a sister, Marilyn, widow of Dan Capozello, of Wyomissing, PA. and by 6 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren

John was preceded in death by his sisters, Joanne Mayer and Joyce Hudson, brothers: Ralph, Carl, Paul Jacobs, Jr.

John enjoyed taking walks, music, talking to people he met on his walks, live entertainment and shows at his residence.  John loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them.  He also loved his special  canine buddy Sonny.  John was the best dad and pop-pop.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 16th from 11:00am to 12:00 noon at John P. Feeney Funeral Home, 625 North 4th Street, Reading, PA, where a memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran's Making a Difference, 2412 Spring Street, West Lawn, PA 19609.

Internment with full military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA will be held at a later date.
