Ronald "Ron" Light Obituary

Ronald Martin Light, 86, of Myerstown, the founder of A to Z Vacuum, passed away on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024 at StoneRidge Retirement Living. He was born near Myerstown, on October 6, 1938, to the late Elmer M. and Rachael A. (Alexander) Light, and was one of 13 siblings. Before retiring to StoneRidge, he lived at his farm near Bernville, of which he was very proud, and also spent many winters in the Ft. Lauderdale area of Florida.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 66 years, Genevie Ruth (Reppert) Light. He is also survived by: four children, Scott Light (Cheryl), Lori Graffius (James), Ellic Light, and RonDell Light; five grandchildren, Nicole Whiteley (Matthew), Carley McKinney (James), Tyler Graffius (Jared), Brittany Payonk (Philip), and Skyy Light; and six great-grandchildren, Olive, Callum, Silas, Ridge, Colton, and Jaxon.

He was the founder of A to Z Vacuum, which he operated for over five decades on Penn Avenue in West Reading. In 1995, he was inducted into the Vacuum Dealers Trade Association's Hall of Fame, and he received numerous other honors and awards throughout his career for his work and accomplishments in the industry. He could frequently be heard on WEEU 830 AM talking to hosts about vacuum cleaners and ceiling fans. Everyone who knew Ronald knew that he was an antique automobile aficionado. At one time, he had a large private collection of antique vehicles at his residence, including one displayed in the living room. He also had nearly a dozen cars on exhibit at the A to Z Autorama Museum, located on the second floor of his former West Reading store, along with Coca-Cola memorabilia and other period decor.

In keeping with his wishes services will be private.
