Richard E. Spracklin, 94, of Reading, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 9th, in his residence after a short illness.
Richard was born in Waynesboro, PA on January 13, 1929, son of the late Catherine (Socks) Vanino and Charles Spracklin.
Dick was the widower of Eleanor L. (Stefanucci) Spracklin.
Richard was a proud Korean War veteran of the US Army. After his military service, Richard returned to Reading and married his lifelong love, Eleanor.
Richard worked for multiple area employers over the years, starting at Dana Corporation, moving to Clark Equipment and retiring as a polisher at Baldwin Brass.
Dick was a lifelong fan of the Phillies.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Jeanmarie Spracklin, and Robin, wife of Mark Hansen, and two sons, Richard L. Spracklin, husband of Sherri, and Jeffery L. Spracklin.
Dick is survived by three grandchildren, Robert L. Spracklin, husband of Jackie, Jason L. Spracklin and Kelly M. Spracklin and six great grandchildren. Richard is also survived by a step-brother and step-sister, Conrad Vanino and Emma Bausher.
Richard was sadly predeceased by his son, Robert L Spracklin (d.2018), husband of Beverly. Richard was also predeceased by his brothers, Glen, Jack, Frank, one sister, Delores (Dolly) and a step-sister, Mary.
The family would like to thank the all the doctors, nurses and aides at Tower Health, Bayada and Hospice for the care, comfort and support that Dick and his family received during this time.
Interment will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at a later date.
