Laura (Dampman) Campbell Obituary

Laura J. Campbell, 99, formerly of Reading, PA, passed on to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 16th, at Berks Heim Nursing Home of Bern Township, PA. She was the widow of David A. Campbell, who died March 3, 1995. Laura was born in Reading, PA on January 27, 1922, a daughter of the late James A. and Gladys (Schlier) Dampman and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Reading. She had been employed as a secretary by various companies over many years. Laura was a past President of the Shillington Women's Club, as well as a member of other women's clubs in different locations throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed playing the piano, playing bridge, reading and solving crosswords. Laura is survived by her children, Ann V. DiTullo, of Reading, PA, Beth L. Uckele, of Wayne, PA, David L. Campbell, of Tampa, FL, and Richard S. Campbell, of Bernville, PA. She is also survived and affectionately known as "Nana" by seven grandchildren, Patricia, Mark, Allison, Allen, Brian, Raine and Grayson; and two great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Sabrina; and having one great-great granddaughter on the way. In addition to her husband and parents, Laura was predeceased by her son, David P. Hurst, and a brother, James A. Dampman, Jr. Services are private at the convenience of the family.
