John Merinsky, 59, of Reading, passed away Sunday, April 22nd, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Dauphin County.
John was born in Reading, PA, a son of the late Helen Ganis and John Merinsky. He was the husband of Gail (Buckwalter) Merinsky who survives him.. They were married in 1983..
A member of St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church Reading, PA 19601, he graduated from Reading High School, class of 1976 and was employed as a Cook at Arner's Restaurant 9th And Exeter Streets and at Alvernia College.
In addition to his wife, Gail, John is survived by two daughters, Michelle L Merinsky., friancee of Thomas Kennard, of Mt. Carmel, PA; Melinda R., wife of Joseph Haughton , of Washington, DC.
John is also survived by four sisters, Joan, wife of Rusty Youst of Exeter Township; Nancy, wife of Andrew Delaney, of Birdsboro; and Lori, wife of Charles Sell, of Reading; Arllene Deitzel, wife of Don Papay , of Slatington, PA. and a brother,Victor Merinsky, of Mt. Penn;
He was an avid coin collector and also collected Historical Reading Memorabilia, An avid newspaper reader, he also enjoyed other regional newspapers and considered himself a news junkie. He enjoyed eating lunch with his nephew Mike and going to the casinos with his wife, Gail.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 28, from 8:30 Am to 10 Am at John P. Feeney Funeral Home 625 North 4th Street Reading, PA. Religious Service at 10 AM. Interment in Charles Evans Cemetery
