Emma P Wilkes Obituary

Emma P. (Lou or Emmie Lou) Wilkes, 94, of West Reading, passed away at 6:16 AM, Sunday, April 22nd, at her residence. . 

Emma was born in Reading, a daughter of the late Bertha E. (Krott) and Herman J. Neuman. She was the widow of Richard E.. Wilkes, Sr. who predeceased her in 1982.

A member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church West Reading, PA . she was also a member of Friends of the Reading Hospital where she did volunteer work. 

Emma is survived by a son,Richard E. Wilkes, Jr., husband of Marcy (Weidner) Wilkes of West Reading, and son in law Henry Wanner of West Reading. . She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Chad, Tami and Jessica, and 3 great grandchildren Samantha, Jasmine and Owen. She is also survived by 4 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren and by Nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a daughter Claudia Mohn Wanner in March of 2014 and by a sister Elizabeth Strunk and a brother Herman F. Neuman.

Services are private at the convenience of family. .
