John J. McGroarty, Jr.
John J. McGroarty, Jr, 81, of Reading, PA (formerly of Drexel Hill, PA) passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024, at St. Joseph Medical Center, in Reading, PA.
John was brn in Darby, PA on December 27, 1942, son of the late Helen (Ryan-Price) McGroarty and John J. McGroarty, Sr. and the husband of Barbara Ann McGroarty, who survives him.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War Era and later worked as a Letter Carrier at United States Postal Service in Havertown, PA., for 33 years, retiring in 1999. He drove school buses in Seminole County, Florida after his retirement.
In addition to his wife Barbara, John is survived by two daughters, Lynn M. McGroarty-McIntyre, wife of Christopher McIntyre, of Exeter Township; and Susan M. Dillinger, wife of Rick Dillinger, of Exeter Township; and a son, Joseph M. McGroarty, husband of Mallory McGroarty, of Mt Joy, PA, and by 3 grandchildren Michael Hearty Jr, Lindsey McIntyre and Brennan Dillinger. John is also survived by his sister Ann (Frank) Murphy and his brother Tom (Donna) McGroarty.
Services are private at the convenience of family.
