Jennie F. Zellers, 89, of Reading, formerly of B'nai Brith Apartments passed away Wednesday, April 20th, peacefully, at Berks Heim - Berks County Home.
The widow of Robert Zellers, who predeceased her in 1987, Jennie was born in Reading, PA on September 27, 1926, a daughter of the late Esther (Cocher) and Edward Kazmierczak.
Jennie was a member of Tulpehocken United Church of Christ Richland, PA and was employed at Bell Telephone Company. She also was co-owner of Janie and Bob's photography that was located on Lancaster Avenue from 1970-1980. She also was the owner of Zellers Tourist Home at Centre Avenue and Windsor Streets in the Centre Park Historic District of Reading.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Lois Hyde and Donna Williams, both of California, and her grandchildren Curtis Van Roland Thorfinson (Donna) and Dawn Thorp Welch, Shannon Chenault, Christina and Deborah Hyde. (Lois) and a niece Bonnie Kleinsmith. She was preceded in death by her grandson Roy James Patrick II in 2010 (Lois).
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday from 11 - 11:30 am at the John P.. Feeney Funeral Home, Inc. and again on Tuesday from 1 -1:30 PM. A Religious Service will be held at at 1:30 pm with Reverend Herbert Hibschman officiating. Interment will follow at Tulpehocken Cemetery, Richland PA. The procession to the church will leave the funeral home promptly at 12 Noon.
