Howard Althouse Obituary

Howard M. Althouse, 81, of Reading, passed away on Friday, February 5th, at his residence. Howard was born in Reading on October 7, 1939, a son of the late Ida (Clauser) and George Althouse. He was the husband of Rosemarie Althouse who died in 2007. He was an avid bowler at Colonial Hills with a 300 game recorded and also loved crossword puzzles. Howard graduated from Muhlenberg High School Class of 1957 and then served in the U.S. Army. He later worked as a machine operator at Browns Feed Mill in Birdsboro, PA, retiring in 2002. Howard is survived by four daughters, Tracey Althouse Salem, of Reading, Diana Althouse of Reading, Karen Althouse Morales, of Reading and Robin Althouse of North Carolina and one son, Scott Althouse of North Carolina, and by a sister, Patricia Althouse Spatz of Berks County. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. He was predeceasd by two sisters, Dorothy Althouse Freese and Lavelle Althouse Stoudt. Friends are invited to gather with family Thursday, February 11th at the Feeney Funeral Home from 10 AM to 11 AM. Religious service will follow at 11 AM. Interment with military honors will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Tuckerton. Arrangements entrusted to John P.
