David Baker, 87, after living a wonderful life full of much love and happiness, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Reading Hospital. He was a resident of The Heritage of Green Hills where he resided with his wife, Shirley C. Baker after moving from their home in Center Park five years ago. He will be dearly missed by his wife, daughter Susan Mezger and Granddaughter Rachel Berzina of Nashville, TN and his sisters Arlene Krause of Hazelton, PA and Catherine Shively of Geneva, OH and many nieces and nephews. He touched the lives of many of his fellow residents at The Heritage who will miss his kind, sweet, caring and spiritual nature.
David was born and grew up in West Hazelton, PA and after a four year tour with the U.S. Navy as an electronics specialist, he settled in Reading where he worked for AT&T for over thirty years and met his wife Shirley who was the love of his life. He spent many years traveling throughout the U.S. and internationally with his wife. He was active with the Masons and Shriners for many years and with the veterans at The Heritage.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity organization of your choice in his memory. A celebration of his life will be planned in the future.
