D. Maxine Ernesto, 89, of Wernersville, passed away Sunday, November 26th surrounded by her loving family. Maxine was born in Chambersburg, PA on July 6, 1928, a daughter of the late Annie (Oyer) and Zerr S. Killian. She was the wife of Alfred P. Ernesto. They were married in 1949 and enjoyed 68 years together.

Maxine was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church, Reading, PA. She earned a RN Degree from Reading Hospital School of Nursing and a Bachelors of Science in Education from Millersville University.

She worked as a Registered Nurse at Reading Hospital, West Reading, PA and also worked at Wernersville State Hospital and the Reading School District as a school nurse at Reading High School where she ran the future nurses club at Reading High. She also worked as a dorm mother at the Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

In addition to her husband, Alfred, Maxine is survived by a daughter, Dr. Rhonwyn S. Ernesto, MD, of Seattle, WA; and two sons Nicholas A. Ernesto, husband of Daria Ernesto, of Wernersville, PA; Michael Z. Ernesto, husband of Marianne Ernesto, of Lewes, DE.

She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter and a loving extended family.

Celebration of her life will be held on Dec 26 from 1-4 pm at the Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 1128 Hampden Blvd., Reading, Pa. 19604.
