Charles B. Otto Obituary



Charles B. (Smokey) Otto, 87, of West Lawn, PA, passed away Thursday, February 2nd, at his residence surrounded by loving family members. Charles was born in Reading, PA, on August 22, 1929, a son of the late Hester A. (Searfoss) and Robert D. Otto. He was the husband of Linda L. (White) Otto, his devoted wife of 41 years.


Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Delivery Driver at Pagoda Candies for 35 years and later in the warehouse for Boscov's for 25 years, retiring at the age of 80.


Charles is survived by his wife, three daughters: Rachel R., wife of Steve Harron, of West Lawn, PA; Robin R., wife of Robert Morganti, of West Reading, PA; and Kelly L. Sanoki, of PA; and three sons: Gary L., husband of Ann (Lancia), of Exeter, PA; Ronnie R. Mogel, of West Lawn, PA; and Ryan R. Mogel, husband of Cindy (Hinnershitz), of Frederick, MD. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Greg and Jeff Otto; and Chloe, Ryan Jr., and Emily Mogel; and 1 great grandchild, Charlotte Otto.


He is predeceased by two brothers: Allen and Robert.


Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, February 8th from 6PM-8PM at John P. Feeney Funeral Home. Internment will be on Thursday, February 9th at 10am at Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading, PA.
