Abigail M. Canfora, 88, of Sinking Spring, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 2nd, at Manor Care Health Services, Sinking Spring. Abigail was born in Reading, Pa. on September 9, 1928, a daughter of the late Mary (Mollica) and Dominic Napoli. She was the widow of Reading Police Captain Joseph Canfora, who was in charge of the Detective bureau and later was Assistant Chief.
She was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading. After high school, she worked as a seamstress at various companies and was a factory line worker at Ludens, Reading, PA.
Abigail is survived by a son, Joseph A., husband of Donna (Weitzel), of Reading, PA, and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by a daughter, Connie, wife of Joseph DiNino, and sisters Josephine, wife of Dominic Zampelli; Millie Kissinger; Mary Floto, and Virginia Zampelli; and brothers Nunzio and Angelo Napoli.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 8th at 9:30 AM at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 237 Franklin Street, Reading, PA 19602.
Internment is private at the convenience of the family and will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in Reading, PA.
