Wayne W. Lynch Obituary
Wayne W. Lynch, 81, of Reading, passed away Tuesday, October 10th, at Complete Care at Berkshire Center, Exeter Township. He was a resident at Manor at Market Square prior to a short illness. Prior to his residency in Reading, PA, he lived in North Wales, PA for 50 years. Wayne was born in Pottsville, PA on June 16, 1942, a son of the late Sarah C. (Appleby) and John V. Lynch. He was pre-deceased by his brother Bruce Lynch. He attended Pottsville High School. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a member of the American Legion Post #286 in Cressona for 53 years. He earned his bachelor’s from East Stroudsburg State College and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He earned his master’s degree in special education from Trenton State College, and his Administrative Certificate from Villanova University. He worked as a teacher and assistant Principal for over 30 years across several school districts with most of his career spent in the Philadelphia School District. He was also a general manager and bar tender for 24 years at various hospitality locations in Montgomery County. After retirement from teaching and tending bar, Wayne worked at Home Depot and drove busses and was an aide on special needs buses for Student First until he finally retired from all work. Wayne enjoyed shooting, hunting, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, collecting sports cars and motorcycles. He showed his prized motorcycles and cars at local shows. He competed in short track motorcycle racing for many years and earned his professional number under District 6 of the American Motorcycle Association. He was a longtime member of the Flying Dutchmen Motorcycle Club in Pine Grove. He was a Charter life member for the American Motorcycle Association for devoting more than 25 years of service to the association. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Deborah L. Descaro, of Elverson; son, Darrin W. Lynch, husband of Cheryl, of Minersville; daughter, Beth Jonas, of Easton and two grandsons, Joshua and Casey Descaro; nephew Robert Beach of Mechanicsburg. Graveside service will be at Friedens Lutheran Church in Llewellyn, PA on November 4, 2023 at 11 am.
