Sr. Joanne Frances Leccese , C.P.S., age 71 years, of Briarwood Jamaica, New York, passed away Tuesday, August 23rd, peacefully, at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, Flushing, New York.
Sr. Joanne was born in Rochester, New York on May 9, 1945, a daughter of the late Dominica M. (Bruno) and Nicholas F. Leccese.
She worked as a teacher and pastoral minister through the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood at Our Lady Of Pompeii School, Bethlehem, Kutztown University, Kutztown, Holy Name High School and Alvernia University in Reading. She was also a Pastoral Associate at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, Sinking Spring and St. John Baptist de La Salle Church, Shillington.
She is survived by her 2 sister, Marie Leccese and Suzanne Leccese, along with her religious family.
Friends are invited to call Friday from 6 to 7:30 PM with at the Precious Blood Convent Chapel. A religious service will be held at 7:30 PM.
Also a Saturday morning visitation from 9 to 10 Am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Interment at Precious Blood Convent Cemetery, Shillington.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Precious Blood Convent, 1094 Welsh Rd., Shillington, PA 19607.
