Shirley Baker Obituary

Shirley C. Baker, 84, after living a wonderful life full of much love and happiness, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at The Green Hills Manor.  She was previously a resident of The Heritage of Green Hills where she resided with her loving husband, David Baker after moving from their home in Historical Center Park six years ago.  She will be dearly missed by her daughter Susan Mezger and Granddaughter Rachel Berzina of Nashville, TN and many family and friends.  She touched the lives of her fellow residents at The Heritage who will miss her kind, caring, giving, and spiritual nature.  Her love for life and dancing brought much joy and laughter in her interactions with others.

Shirley was born and grew up in Mount Carmel, PA and moved to Reading where she graduated from Reading High and worked for AT&T where she met husband David who was the love of her life.  She was a Realtor with Park Road prior to retiring.  She spent many years traveling throughout the U.S. and internationally with her husband.  She was active in the community including serving on the Reading Parking Authority Board of Directors, transporting food donations to those in need, and working with elementary school children.  She was a member of the Greater Reading Encore Chorale (GREC) and enjoyed sharing her gift of singing.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity organization of your choice in her memory.  A celebration of her life will be planned in the future.
