Sandra Kay Fisher (nee Fix) popped off on December 29. She was surrounded by family and friends as she transitioned to a place where Duke always wins and martinis are served promptly at 4:30 PM.
During her extraordinary life, Sandy sailed, raised a horse, enjoyed scuba diving, and spied obscure seldomly uttered words to suspiciously win every round of Boggle she ever played. As a lover of the outdoors, she gardened, rode her bike, and went for many walks while sporting her trademark sun visor and bedazzled walking stick. In her quiet moments at home she played Solitaire, tackled crossword puzzles, and let the expiration dates elapse by years on many items in her fridge and pantry. She also read voraciously, listened to classical music, loved the Manhattan Transfer, and made meatloaf and beef barbecue that were nothing short of legendary.
Sandy is predeceased by her Father, Gilbert G. Fix, her Mother, Shirley W. Fix (nee Seip) and her husband Terry R. Fisher. She is survived by her brother Richard Fix.
Sandy is also survived by her four children, Damien, Christian, Colin, and Megan, all of whom believed they were her favorite.
She is also survived by a long list of grandchildren: Elias, Olivia, Amelia, Aidan, Noah, Luis, Spencer, Nolan, Everley, and Daxx, all of whom she felt just ducky about.
Sandy also leaves a legacy of friendship a mile long. Everyone who knew her loved her, even if she’d shamelessly laugh at you if you fell down and got hurt.
For a life well lived and laughs well earned, rest in peace, our beloved Mother, until we meet again.
Services and interment are private.
