Rodney J. (Jack) Gutekunst

Rodney J. Gutekunst, 89, of Douglassville, formerly of Hill Road, Reading, PA, passed away Saturday, January 6th, at Keystone Villa Assisted Living, Douglassville PA..
Rodney was born in Reading, PA on November 10, 1928, a son of the late Theresa (Englehard) and Clarence Gutekunst. He was the widower of Dorothy A (Plucker) Gutekunst who predeceased him in September of 2015.
A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, 6th and Washington Streets Reading, he was employed as an Engineer at Boyd C. Wagner Engineering Reading, PA., for 25 Years, retiring in 1993. He also served in the US Navy at the end of World War II.
Rodney is survived by a daughter, Kathleen A, wife of William Reynolds, of Schnecksville, PA; and a son,Rodney S, Gutekunst, husband of Nancy Eyrich, of Mohnton, PA.He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Ellen M. Shimkanon, Scot A. Gutekunst and Kristina A. Provencher and a great granddaughter Emily M. Provencher. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Gutekunst and a granddaughter Stacey Gutekunst.
Rodney loved playing pool and pinochle. More than that, he loved winning at both.
Friends are invited to call Friday January 12th from 10 AM to 12 Noon at Feeney Funeral Home. Religious service at 12 Noon followed by encryptment at Charles Evans Cemetery.
