Robert A. Drayer III, 70, of Reading, PA, passed away Thursday, June 22nd at Lancashire Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lancaster, PA. Born in York, PA on April 24, 1947, he was a son of the late Thelma L. (Wilt) Drayer and Robert A. Drayer, II. Robert was the widower of Janet L. (Wert).
Robert is survived by three sons: Michael S. Drayer, of York, PA; Robert A. Drayer, IV, of Sinking Spring, PA; and Jonathan C. Drayer, of Reading, PA; a sister, Mary J., wife of Keith Strarner, of York, PA; and 5 grandchildren.
He worked as freight shipment arranger for H&S Trucking and was also a very accomplished pianist. He played with the group 'The Graduates" in the 1960's with whom he cut a record. He also played at the Sterling Mansion in Reading and for his church, Bethany United Church of Christ in Ephrata, PA
Friends are invited to gather on Saturday, July 1st from 9:30am-10:30am with a service at 10:30am at John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Reading, PA. Burial will follow at 11am at Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA.
