US NAVY  WWII & Korean War



Peter J. Fonte, Sr., 93, of Fleetwood, PA, passed away at 1931, Thursday, June 22nd, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading. 

The husband of Mary (DeFebo) Fonte, they would have been married for 66 years in August. Peter was born in Reading, PA on March 27, 1924, a son of the late Domenica (Carabello) and Carmelo Fonte.

He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean War. He also served with the US Navy Reserves as an aviation Mechanic.

In addition to his wife, Mary, Peter is survived by two sons David M. Fonte of Wernersville, Pa and Peter J. Fonte, Jr. husband of Monique of Staten Island, NY.

Peter is also survived by three sisters, Mary Fiorillo, wife of Robert. of Telford, PA; Josephine Perrato widow of Sam of Exeter Township  and Rosalie McDonald wife of Joseph of North Carolina, and 2 brothers, Natel Fonte widower of Jeannie of Reading; and Anthony Fonte widower of Ethel of Greenfields, Reading, PA

Encryptment will be at  Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA with full military honors on Thursday, July 6th At 1 PM  Funeral procession to leave the funeral home at 11:45 AM.
