Richard J. O'Connor


Richard J. O'Connor, 80, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, May 13th, at his residence, in the company of family members. 


Richard was born in Hokendauqua, PA on May 27, 1940, a son of the late Norma A. (Beidleman) and John M. O'Connor.


He was the husband of Katherine E. (Preston) O'Connor. They were married for 59 years. 


A 1958 graduate of Allentown High School, he served in the U.S. Navy as a submariner and later worked for IBEW #375 and then for Crowder, Jr. Company for 10 years, retiring in 2002.


He was a member of the Greenleaf Masonic Lodge #561, Allentown and the Rajah Temple Shrine. He also served as a committee member of Boy Scout Troop 57, Neffs, PA 


In addition to his wife, Katherine, Richard is survived by a son, Preston S. O'Connor, of New Tripoli. and by four grandchildren, Seamus and Declan O'Connor, Lindsey Buskirk and Dustin Keich.
