Stephen Olin Schmidt Obituary

Stephen Olin “Steve” Schmidt, 77, of Riverview Park, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 26th, at his residence with his family by his side.

Steve was born in Reading, PA on November 8, 1943, a son of the late Stephen and Nannie G. (Purvis) Schmidt.

He was the husband of his loving wife, Millie Rae (Reider) Schmidt who survives him. They were married on September 25, 1971, and would've celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.

Steve is survived by three children, his daughter Veronica Anne and son Stephen Raymond with whom he resided along with his wife Millie, and son Marc Allen of Maryland. Steve is also survived by his cousin Thomas Schmidt of Mohnton, PA, and his many wonderful cousins from his mother's hometown of Darlington, Florida.

He served in the U.S. Army with 6 months of active duty.

He worked as a Truck Parts Manager/Salesman for over 50 years. Former employers include Heavy Duty Parts/Safety Sales, Mack Trucks, Inc, and Class 8 Auto Parts before retiring in December 2011.

Stephen enjoyed Drag Racing as a young man and enjoyed going to the Horse Track watching Harness Racing and was an avid Pinochle player with family and friends. Stephen also enjoyed being a coin numismatist his entire life. 

Services are private at the convenience of the family.
