Margaret B. (Bush) McDonald, 93, passed away suddenly in her apartment at Sacred Heart Villa in Laureldale February 26, 2021 while watching her favorite game show channel. She was the widow of the late Artemus T. McDonald who died Mar 31, 2020. They married Sep 26, 1948 and celebrated 71 years of marriage in 2019. Born Sep 15, 1927 in Barneston, Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Esther (Gable) Bush. She was a member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church in Reading.
Margaret was a 1945 graduate of Shillington High School and a 1948 graduate of Coatesville Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Community General Hospital in Reading. She took up housekeeping with Art in the Coatesville area after their marriage. They moved to Reading in 1959. Margaret and Art did everything together. They enjoyed scouring flea markets and collected many treasures. They liked country and bluegrass music and enjoyed live shows, like Johnny Cash and Bill Monroe. Both were Phillies and Eagles fans.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Jean, wife of James R. Freeman, Shoemakersville; a grandson, Brian Freeman and his wife Krista (Hosemann), Auburn; a grand daughter, Sara (Freeman) Musser, Mt. Penn; 3 great grand children that she adored: Brody Musser; Holden and Everly Freeman; a nephew John Nichols and wife Cindy; nieces Penny (Nichols), wife of Sheldon Ash; Sherry (Nichols), widow of Brian Coles and Tammy (Nichols), widow of Robert (Vandergrift) Nichols . Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister Marlene (Bush) Nichols; a son Artemus T. McDonald Jr and a niece, Holly Nichols.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Sacred Heart Villa for the loving care provided for Margaret during the three years that she lived there. The extra special care provided by Althea and Debra the past few months was greatly appreciated by both Margaret and family.
