Lorraine M. (Pompella) Lindbuchler Obituary

FLEETWOOD — Lorraine M. (Pompella) Lindbuchler, 65, of Fleetwood, Berks County, passed away on Aug. 8, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, after a struggle with cancer.

Born July 4, 1950, to Eleanor (Meckes) Fulk, White Haven, and the late Stephen Pompella. Lorraine is survived by Howard, her loving husband of 46 years; her son, Ryan (spouse, Anita); and her daughter, Kristen McCarroll (spouse, Beau). She is also survived by five grandchildren, Elisha and Alexander Lindbuchler, and Callen, Jenna and Alexa McCarroll; and siblings, Stephen Pompella, Gerald Fulk, Renee Williamson, Roxanne Gavinski and Denise Lorman.

Lorraine was active in many organizations including township supervisor for Fairview Township, past president of the Mountain Top Rotary Club and member of the boards of both the Wilkes-Barre and Kutztown Chamber of Commerce.

Lorraine and her husband owned and operated Paramount Independent Living Aids, a DME company, for 12 years before retiring in 2013.

Proud of her Italian heritage, she was a member of the Victor Emmanuel and Spartico Social Clubs in and around Reading.

She was a dynamo of energy, always on the move, travelling and planning family gatherings. With family and friends, she travelled both near and far. She visited Europe several times, including a visit with her family in Farindola, Italy, and travelled with her husband to visit his family in Passau (Bavaria), Germany. Her absolute favorite trip every year was to the "Little Red House" in Long Beach Island, New Jersey, with her children and grandchildren.

Lorraine also loved to do needlework, which won many awards. She also loved attending auctions and flea markets and was an active member for many years in the 81st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company K, and Civil War reenacting group. She was a great seamstress and created many of her own dresses, gowns and accessories.

Lorraine was a gentle soul who lived life to the fullest and greatly enriched the lives of all she knew. She will be sadly missed by all. She was a member of St. Mary RC Church, Kutztown.

A celebration of life service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Reading. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in her daughter's church, St. Monica Parish, 63 W. 8th St., Wyoming.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to St. Mary's RC Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, PA 19533.

Arrangements entrusted to the John P. Feeney Funeral Home, in Reading's Centre Park Historic District, 625 N, 4th St, Centre Ave (Route 61), Reading.
