Loris Herr Obituary
Loris K. Herr, 88, formally of Sinking Spring, PA passed away Thursday, July 13th, at Country Meadows Pathways of Wyomissing, PA.
Loris was born in Donora, PA on February 11, 1935, a daughter of the late Helen (Cranisky) and Stephen Kopac and was the widow of John C. Herr, who passed away in March 2022. Loris and John enjoyed 64 years of marriage together.
She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, later to go on and receive her Master’s Degree and enjoyed a career as a dedicated elementary school teacher for 20+ years at Governor Mifflin Cumru Elementary. After she retired, she continued to follow each of her 1st grade students through to their senior year and attended each graduation. Loris had many interests while enjoying retirement; gardening on their homestead, healthy cooking, traveling to every continent with John and volunteering for a Hospice organization, among many others. But, above all, her family was her number one source of joy and happiness.
Loris is survived by her two daughters, Laura Abraham (Peter) of PA; Cindy VanHise (David), of Perkasie, PA; son, Clifton Herr, of Shillington; and her brother, Greg Kopac (Marguerite), of Oregon. She is also survived by her two granddaughters; her beloved Katherine VanHise and Brittany Abraham. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Kopac.
Her family would like to thank Country Meadows Pathways staff and LifeSong Hospice for the tremendous care and love Loris received while living there.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
