Fritz was born in Pottstown on September 8, 1937, a son of the late Helen Y. (Maurer) and Ernst F. Allmendinger. He met the love of his life, Linda M (Sherman) Allmendinger casually at the Liederkranz on a Wednesday night. They were married on November 7, 1964 and celebrated nearly 58 years of marriage together. They were blessed with their children, Christian Allmendinger, husband of Renee, of Boyertown, PA and Mark Allmendinger, fiancé of Melissa Leach, of Northampton, PA. Fritz served his country in US Army as an E5 Sergeant. He served for 6 years in Fort Dix, Hawaii, and Greenland followed by many years in the Army Reserves. After graduating from Boyertown High School in 1955, he began employment with Bell of Pennsylvania as a lineman. He worked his way up to a cable splicer technician and continued employment with them for 43 years, retiring in 1999. After retirement Fritz kept busy by working for the New Hanover Township Road Department for ten years. Fritz loved to actively serve his community. Some of their favorite trips were to Alaska, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Denmark and Germany to visit loved ones. They enjoyed getting together with their friends, especially for their annual Wiegenfest. They cherished their weekly backyard picnics where everyone was invited. But above it all, Fritz's prized possession and favorite way to spend the day was with the loves of his life -- his family. Whether it was all of them hanging around his pool, crowded around a dinner table, cheering at the kids' music events, little ones curled up in his lap for a snuggle -- the list could go on and on. Fritz always put his family first and those who were loved by him knew that without a shadow of a doubt. He is survived by his brother, George Allmendinger, a guest of the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown, PA. He was preceded by his brothers John Allmendinger and Martin Allmendinger.
