Lorine C. Waszkiewicz-Bak, 88, formerly of Shillington, passed away Wednesday, November 14th at Berks Heim – Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Born in Topton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Newton and Margaret (Isamoyer) Harpel.
Lorine was the widow of Stanley P. Waszkiewicz, who passed in 1987 and the Very Rev. Boleslaw Bak, who passed in 2011.
She spent her life working in accounting and retired from Caron Foundation. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Polish National Catholic Church, Cumru Twp., where she was a past Parish Committee Trustee, past President of the Ladies Adoration Society, and co-organizer of the Bishop Hodur Choir serving as Choir Director for more than 30 years.
Lorine is survived by three children, Cindy M., widow of James Whitehead, Lewes, DE; Barry S., husband of Jerry Waszkiewicz, Robeson Twp.; and Jody C., wife of Darryl Witman, Mohnton; grandchildren Ashley Brown, Colin Waszkiewicz and Kyle Witman; and great-grandchildren Piper, Jonah and Eli Waszkiewicz. She is also survived by stepchildren Constance Bak, Richmond, VA and Robert Bak, Wyomissing; and step grandchildren Chelsea and Alex Bak.
In addition, she is survived by a sister, Rosalie Hermany, Kutztown and was predeceased by sisters Doris Kroninger and Joanne Steckel.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 17th at 10:30 AM in St. Stephen’s Polish National Catholic Church, 20 St. Stephen’s Lane, Reading, PA 19607. The Very Reverend Edward D. Ratajack is the celebrant. Interment at St. Stephen’s PNC Church cemetery will be private at the family’s request.
