Leroy S. Spayd, 93, of Shillington, passed away Wednesday, October 18th, at Mifflin Center, Cumru Twp.
Leroy was born in Reading, PA on November 4, 1923,. He is survived by a brother Reuben Spayd of Robesonia.
He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC in WW II. He was involved in the D-Day Invasion , Northern France, Rhineland, Battle of the Bulge and Central Europe. All veterans are invited to pay their respects to our fallen comrade and attend his services.
Leroy worked at Dana Corporation for 33 years and later at Meridian Bank for 10 years and the Reading Parking Authoirity for 20 years. He was a member of the Reading Liederkranz as well as many other social and civic association throughout Berks County. He was well known for his sharp dressing and handlebar moustache,
A public visitation will be held on Monday, October 23rd at 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM at Feeney Funeral Home in Reading, PA A Religious Service will be held at on Monday, October 23rd at 12:30 PM with Military Salute at 1 PM presented by the Topton American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran's Making a Difference 2412 Spring St West Lawn, PA 19609.
Internment to follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA.
