Harry E. (Mike) Souders, Jr., 88, of Wyomissing, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away Tuesday, October 17th, at Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading.
Harry was born in Reading, PA on November 5, 1928, a son of the late Ruth C. (Miller) and Harry E. Souders, Sr. He was the husband of Fay L. (Slusser) Souders.
Harry graduated from Central Catholic High School, class of 1946 and attended St. Joseph College in Philadelphia studying Pre-Med. He served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Sergeant during the Korean era. and was the owner Souders Atlanticservice station at Spring and Nichols Street in Reading which was previously owned by his father. He later worked as an adjuster for CNA and then retired from Allstate Insurance. Harry was a member of many Fire Companies and Social Clubs in Berks County
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Fay, Harry is survived by two daughters, Diane, wife of William Houck, of Muhlenberg Twp. and Michelle A., wife of Gregory Alesin, of Wyomissing,with whom he last resided, and a brother, Joseph W. Souders,husband of Susan, of Middletown, PA; He is also survived by 1 Granddaughter, Terri Lynn, Fiancee of Patrick Woody, a dear friend Harold Roberts, many nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved Aunt Mary Miller.
He was predeceased by a son, Michael P. Souders and a sister Janet Starr

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, October 21st at Gethsemane Chapel of the Resurrection in Laureldale, PA. Father Eric Tolentino of Sacred Heart RC Church in West Reading, officiating. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery Chapel of St. George.
