Kenneth John Obituary

Kenneth W. John, 72, of Reading, passed away Monday, January 6th, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. 

Kenneth was born in Manhattan, New York on August 4, 1952, a son of the late Elizabeth (Segelsky) and Kenneth H. John.

He received his Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Reading Area Community College and served in the U.S. Army as a SP5 from 1972 to 1982. He was an Army musician playing percussion for the First US Army Band, Ft. Meade, MD.

Kenneth was a noted percussionist, vibraphone player and vocalist for several bands in the Reading area, playing weddings and celebrations. He also worked at the former Chef Alan's Bistro.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Stacy, wife of Jason Asbell, of West Reading; son, James W. John, of Laureldale; sister, Suzanne, wife of George Dillman, of Cumru Township and granddaughter, Ava Asbell.

Services will be Monday, January 13th at 1:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
