Kenneth Holl Obituary


Kenneth M. Holl, 79, of Bern Township, passed away at 4:05 p.m., Friday, January 15th, peacefully, while in the company of family members, at his residence.

The husband of Patricia Ann (Wagg) Strand-Holl, they were married since 1989. He was a loving and devoted husband for 26 years. Kenneth was born in Reading, on December 2, 1936, a son of the late Hazel Rita (Marks) and Mitchell Holl.


A member of St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church, Reading, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War era and later worked as a Technician at Western Electric, AT&T and Lucent Technologies for 47 years. He also worked in the Communications Room for the Pennsylvania State Police for 8 years.


Kenneth was very involved in Democratic Politics and received an award for voting continuously for over 50 years.


He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 793, a past Worshipful Master of the Isaac Heister Lodge # 660 F&AM and a past commander of Reading Commandeering # 42.


He is survived by his wife, Patricia, and a step-son, Bern Township Police Sergeant Brian Keith Strand, and many nieces and nephews.


He is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Brianna Kyla Ahrens, Brandon Keith Strand and Teri Julianan Strand, and 1 great-grandson, Hurley Michael "Boo-Boo" Ahrens, and a first cousin, June Braun, of Muhlenberg Twp.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church, Reading, PA, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20th, with Fr. Garcia officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to call Tuesday 6 - 8 p.m. and Wednesday 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Inc. Entombment follows at Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA.
