SSG James H. Guldin, Jr., 60, of Orefield, passed away Monday, January 10th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. James was born in Macungie, PA on August 23, 1961, a son of Delores (Mangold) Levene of Old Zionville, PA and the late James H. Guldin, Sr.

He was the husband of Shelia (Reichard) Guldin who survives him.


Jim served in the U.S. Army in Germany and the PA Army National Guard attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant and retired with CO C 1/111th Infantry, Kutztown, PA  He served in Germany, Kosovo,  and was deployed to New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  He then went to Iraq where he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge. 


He worked for the former Tyler Pipe in Macungie and as an Electrician at Honeywell in Breinigsville.


In addition to his wife, Sheila, James is survived by two daughters, Alyce A. Guldin, of Allentown; and Amelia E. Guldin, of Orefield; James is also survived by three sisters, Suzette, wife of Angelo Bizzarro, of Maryland; Cecilia, wife of Alan Sherman, of Old Zionville, PA, and Cynthia Bizzarro, of Allentown. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Walker and Harmony Raines.


Friends and relatives are invited to his visitation at the Kutztown National Guard Armory 390 College Blvd. Kutztown, PA from 2-5 PM on Saturday, January 15th. Religious service at 4 pm. Interment will take place Monday at 2:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors.
