Howard R. Lindbuchler Obituary

FLEETWOOD — Howard R. Lindbuchler, 67, of Fleetwood, was taken from us at 3:43 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, from injuries received in a motor vehicle/pedestrian accident, at Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading.

The widower of Lorraine (Pompella) Lindbuchler, who died Aug. 8, 2015, Howard was born in Kingston on July 27, 1948, a son of the late Jeanette (Richards) and Louis Lindbuchler.

In 1969, he married the love of his life, Lorraine Pompella. Their marriage lasted one day short of 47 years, when cancer took her away from him. Together they created a wonderful family, travelled all throughout Europe, visiting relatives in both Germany and Italy. Howard was very proud of his German heritage, and loved the taste of a good German beer.

Together they lived life to the fullest and made the world a better place, helping the disabled have a better quality of life. Now they are together forever in heaven.

He was a member of the Reading Liederkranz, Victor Emmanuel Society, and a Master Freemason with the Coalville Lodge in Ashley.

Howard was a race-car enthusiast, especially with his beloved Cobra. Anyone who got a ride in the Cobra would remember it always.

He was also an active member for many years in the 81st Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, Company K, a Civil War reenacting group.

A member of St Mary's R.C. Church, Kutztown, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant in the Vietnam era.

An expert mechanic, he worked for ACME Markets, Forty-Fort, for nearly 20 years, and it seemed he could fix anything mechanical. Later, he co-owned and operated Paramount Independent Living Aids, a DME company, for 12 years before retiring in 2013.

He is survived by two children: son, Ryan Lindbuchler, husband of Anita Lindbuchler, of Wilkes Barre; and daughter, Kristen, wife of Beau McCarroll, Wyoming; three siblings: brother, Louis Lindbuchler, husband of Tish Lindbuchler, North Carolina; a sister, Becky, wife of Hondo Nobel, Mountain Top; and a brother, Carl Lindbuchler, husband of Sue Lindbuchler, Wilkes Barre.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Elisha and Alexander Lindbuchler, Callen, Jenna and Alexa McCarroll.

A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in his daughter's church, St. Monica Parish, 63 W. Eighth St., Wyoming. Friends and relatives are invited to call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Feeney Funeral Home, Reading. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Wilkes Barre, will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica Parish, 63 W. Eighth St., Wyoming, PA 18644.

Arrangements entrusted to the John P. Feeney Funeral Home, in Reading's Centre Park Historic District. 625 N. Fourth St. at Centre Ave, Route 61, Reading.
