Herman Bonilla, 82, of Reading, passed away Saturday, November 19th, at his son's residence surrounded by family members.
The widower of Evalina (nee Torres) Borilla, Herman was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico on April 7, 1934, a son of the late Maximina (Perez) and Euclids Bonilla.
He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church Reading.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal in the Korean War. He was then employed as a Maintenance Technician at Reading Housing Authority for 25 years, retiring in 1998.
He is survived by two sons Baldwin Bonilla, husband of Nora Bonilla, of Reading, PA; and Aladdin Bonilla, of Pottstown, PA.
Herman is also survived by 2 sisters: Gloria Bonilla, of Carolina, Puerto Rico, and Alva Bonilla, of Coamo, Puerto Rico along with a brother, Deacon Victor Bonilla of Philadelphia. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call 6 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, November 27th at Feeney Funeral Home in Reading, PA. Friends are also invited to call 8 AM to 9 AM on Monday, November 28th at Feeney Funeral Home. Funeral procession will leave the funeral home exactly at 9:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Monday, November 28th at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Reading, PA. Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery Reading, PA alongside his wife.
