Frances Marie Whitehead, 78, of Wyomissing, passed away Friday, January 7th at her residence. Fran was born in Reading on July 21, 1943, a daughter of the late Matilda (Kattner) and Stanley Krol. Fran "Frannie" is survived by her husband, Howard A. Whitehead Jr., to whom she was married for 56 years. Fran worked for many years as a machine operator at Agere Systems Reading, retiring in 1999. She was a graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School and Sacred Heart Hospital. Allentown, School of Nursing. Frances was a loving wife, mother and friend to many. She loved clipping coupons, chocolate, spending time at home with her family, watching TV, and animals. In addition to her husband Howard, Frances is survived by a daughter, Sue A, wife of Michael Tulencik, of Shillington; a son, Alan K.., husband of Diana (Flores) Whitehead, of Muhlenberg Twp., and step-grandchildren Kyra and Alex Camilli. Frances is also survived by her brother, Anthony Krol, husband of the late Tawni Krol, of Birdsboro. She was predeceased by her sister Barbara, wife of Richard Wolfe of Sinking Spring.
Family and friends are invited to gather Saturday, February 5th from 10 to 11 AM at Feeney Funeral Home. Religious service will follow at 11 AM. Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
