Eleonore (Coppen) Faessen Obituary

Eleonore (Coppen) Faessen, age 88 years, of Reading, passed away Monday, February 1st, while in the company of family members at her daughter's residence in Temple.

The widow of Paul Faessen, who predeceased her in 1993, Eleonore was born in the East Indies on October 30, 1927, a daughter of the late Jane E. (Jongenburger) and Louis H. Coppen. She was a faithful member of the Reading North Congregation. She appreciated the many kindnesses shown her through the years by her friends.

She worked as a sewing machine operator at David Crystal-Talbot for over 30 years, retiring in 1989.

Eleonore loved her family and especially loved family gatherings. She liked gardening, sewing, and most of all cooking. Eleonore was known by all as a good cook and loved cooking for her family and friends and delighted in seeing their expressions of enjoyment. Her most noteworthy dish was her fried rice.

She was a cheerful giver and was always very thoughtful. Simple by nature, Eleonore wanted no formal service after death. She didn't fear death but had confidence in the future resurrection which would again unite her with her loved ones. She will be forever loved and remembered.

She is survived by her son, Ronald H. Faessen, husband of Mona, of Melbourne, FL.; and three daughters: Shirley B. Siegfried of Reading; Paula, wife of Kenneth Hoffman, of Temple; and Maryke, wife of Raymond Beltran, of Reading. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Services are private at the convenience of the family.
