Edward C. Jones, 96, of Wernersville, formerly of Reading, passed away Tuesday, October 9th, at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading.
Edward was born in Reading on September 22, 1922, a son of the late Della (Reider) and Evan W. Jones. He was the widower of Kathryn J. (Kuhn) Jones, who died in 2015.
He served in the U.S. Army Paratroopers as a PFC in WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts for wounds received in combat, along with many other medals.
He worked as a Tool and Dye Maker at Edmar Engineering, retiring in 1981. He also worked for Specialty Tool and Design.
Edward is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Daniel L. Jones.
Private entombment in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
