David L. Zerbe, 60, of Reading, PA, passed away April 9th at St. Joseph Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Gilbert A. Zerbe Sr. and Samantha (Williams).
David is survived by his wife, Bonita (Adams); son Chad and his wife, Bonnie, and brothers: Glenn, Gilbert Jr., and Brian. He is predeceased by eldest brother Wayne.
David served in the U.S. Army for 36 years, 7 months, and two days. He was deployed on many overseas missions, including Bosnia and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars, an Emmy Award for Broadcast Journalism, and many other awards for his service.
In 1977, he founded Dave Zerbe Studio of Photography. He poured his heart and soul into his art and while deployed numerous times, he credited his wife and son with maintaining their family business. He was a member of the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce and the Professional Photographers of America. He loved his God, his family, and his country. He is now with his Savior, Christ Jesus.
Friends may call from 6PM to 8PM on Monday, April 17th at John P. Feeney Funeral Home and on Tuesday, April 18th from 9AM to 11AM at Exeter Bible Church, 926 Philadelphia Terrace, Birdsboro, PA 19508, with a service at 11AM followed by refreshments. Interment with full Military Honors will be at 2PM at Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA.
