David W. Bucks
READING POLICE TRAINING OFFICER
Officer David W. Bucks, 80, of Wyomissing, PA passed away peacefully Monday, January 1st, at Sinking Spring Nursing & Rehab Center.
David was born in Reading, PA on July 6, 1943, a son of the late Fern A. (Hepler) and Warren Bucks and was the husband of Charlene (Hill) Bucks. They were married for over 20 years.
He was a former member of St. Thomas United Church of Christ in Reading.
He served in the U.S. Army Pennsylvania National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel and he was employed as a Range Officer FTO for the Reading Police for 28 years, retiring in 2007.
David is survived by three daughters, Pam S. Bucks, of Mohnton; Kathy L. Reed, of Reading; Lauren E. Diaz-Cruz, of Reading; and a step-daughter, Marissa L., wife of Matthew Roach, of Reading.
He is also survived by 6 grandchildren Courtney, Marissa, Isabella, Charleigh, Gianna, and Madelyn and 4 great-grandchildren, Ainslee, Harper, August, and Hudson. He was predeceased by a sister, Susan Jacobs in 2004.
A Public Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 9th at Feeney Funeral Home in Reading, PA. A religious Service will begin at 11AM
Interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park Exeter Twp., PA. with full military honors is private at the families convenience.
