Carlos D. Pereira, 25, of Reading, passed away Tuesday, June 15th, at List Rd and Angora Rd in Berks County.
Carlos was born in Queens, New York on April 3, 1996, a son of Rosanna M. (Fernandez-Polanco) Pereira and Carlos R. Pereira of Reading, PA.
He was the husband of Briana L. (Sheehan) Pereira and fur daddy to Remi Pereira.
A 2014 graduate of Reading High School, and later from the Pennsylvania College of Technology with an Associates Degree, he served in the US Army as an Abrams Tank System Maintainer. His overseas service included duties in Poland and Latvia as a part of the European deterrence initiative receiving the Army Achievement Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, and the Driver and Mechanics Badge with Mechanic Clasp and the National Defense Service Medal. He was currently stationed with 278 CS BN Company H Forward in Lock Haven, PA. His last duty station was with HQMCP US ARMY Europe Forward Command (USAREUR FC)
Carlos was currently employed as a Diesel Mechanic at Hunter Truck Sales Breinigsville, PA.
Carlos “David” enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always enjoyed the BBQs his parents would host where he’d spend hours talking and laughing with his sisters. He loved hunting and shooting guns with his father-in-law and wife. He was a kid at heart when it came to spending time with his numerous nephews and nieces. David proudly served his country with his fellow soldiers with Hammer Company out of Lockhaven, PA. He enjoyed working on tractor-trailers at Hunter Truck Sales with his friends. He was a Star Wars fan like no other. David will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He will hold a special place in the hearts of the members of the Pereira, Polanco, Carrillo, Brosnan, Sheehan, Deskevich, and Mejia families. He had a way of lighting up a room and making everyone laugh.
In addition to his wife, Briana, and his parents, Carlos is also survived by a maternal Grandmother Antonia Fernandez of Reading, and a Paternal Grandmother Aura Betencourt of Panama. Along with six sisters and two brothers, Carlos Joseph Pereira, of Colon, Panama; Irene, wife of Carmelo Mendoza, of Old Bridge, New Jersey; Shuali Pereira of Colon, Panama; William Bennett, of Cliffside Park, New Jersey; Enid del Carmen Pereira of Colon, Panama; Nicole, wife of Rick Carrillo, of San Antonio, Texas; Laura Pereira, wife of Desmond George, of Reading, PA; Rosanna, wife of Ryan Brosnan, of Akron, PA. Also, a father and mother-in-law, Kevin and Brenda Sheehan, Windber, PA, sister-in-law, Alyssa Sheehan, wife of Nate Miller, Windber, PA and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday Evening from 6-8 PM at John P. Feeney Funeral Home in Reading, PA. This service will be live-streamed on our website, address below, starting at 6 PM. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA on Wednesday at 10:30 AM with Full Military Honors. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home Sharply at 9:00 AM. Those meeting at the cemetery should arrive no later than 10:15 AM. The Cemetery is at Exit 85 on Interstate 81.
