Barrie C. Kinsey, 82, of St. Lawrence, passed away Monday, May 8th, at Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading. Barrie was born in Readingon January 14, 1941, a son of the late Anne (Bieber) and Donald C. Kinsey and was the husband of Donna E. (Pfleger) Kinsey. Barrie and Donna happily danced their way through 45 years of marriage. They were each other's best friends.
Barrie would always say the best years of his life were spent living in Barnegat Light and Mystic Islands, NJ. Barrie and Donna loved entertaining family and friends, especially at their annual Oktoberfest. Nephew Thomas Pfleger credited that time with leading him to obtain a degree in Earth Sciences from Penn State University. Nephew Jason Pfleger would always tease Uncle Barrie about his famous burnt chicken. When his son Jason was young, Barrie shared his excitement with seeing the ocean for the first time. Barrie loved his boat. He would say it was the perfect escape because when you're in the middle of the bay no one can reach you, complete relaxation.
Barrie's trip of a lifetime was visiting his daughter Pamela and her husband Nathan in Germany. Barrie sure did love German beer. To celebrate Barrie's life, raise a glass to toast Barrie, Prost, Barrie, Prost!
Barrie was a 1958 graduate of Wilson High School and earned a Bachelors in Education and Biology degrees from Kutztown University and a Masters in Education from Temple University. He also attended the Pennsylvania School of Banking at Bucknell University.
