Anna R. Myers, 97, of Wernersville, passed away Tuesday, June 23rd, at Tower Health Reading Hospital, West Reading.
Anna was born at home in Reading on January 12, 1929, a daughter of the late Angelina and Felix Talarico. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Curvin L. Myers Jr., who died in December 2012.
Anna attended Reading High School and was a decades long member of St John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, "Bud," in their RV after his retirement and they were fortunate to travel much of the east coast - from Maine to Florida in it. Additionally, they visited family in several other parts of the United States - which they both thoroughly enjoyed.
Anna was a loving mother to four children, all of whom she made feel special and loved. It would be impossible to count all of the delicious homemade meals she cooked. Not only was she a fantastic cook (her home made sauce and meatballs were incredible), but she loved baking too. She especially loved baking Italian cookies and giving them away to family and friends.
She was small but mighty - often hard to keep up with (even with her rollator). She didn't like to sit still - and continued to rake leaves, pick up fallen sticks, and sweep light snow with a broom in her yard all the way up until her mid 90s. She actually loved to clean and iron. She loved writing letters and cards to friends and family; and almost always embellished the envelopes with colorful drawings done just for the recipient. Anna certainly knew how to show her love - even in little ways like this - and everyone who knew her was lucky to receive it. Even all of her fur grandbabies felt the love and will miss her dearly.
Anna is survived by her four children: David F., husband of Lina (Gelsinger) Myers of Fleetwood, Susan L., wife of Peter Sweigart, of Stevens, PA; John J., husband of Angie (Burdette) Myers, of Rolla, MO; Linda A., wife of John Loiseleur, of Chester County; sister Angeline F., widow of Salvatore Rizzo, of Wernersville; and four grandchildren: Tyler Myers, Makenna Myers, Cailyn Myers and Lucien Loiseleur. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Gloria Burnhart, sister, C. Antoinette Duplak, and brothers, Frank and Joseph Talarico.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Gethsemane Cemetery Chapel of the Ressurection at 10 AM on July 22nd, 2026. Relatives and friends may gather at the cemetery chapel prior to the service time. Please be seated by 9:50 AM. Encryptment will be in the chapel after the Mass.
