William Robertson Paton (Rob), 77, of Reading, PA passed away Wednesday, May 5th, at his residence.
Rob was born in Mt. Kisco, NY on August 9, 1943, a son of the late Mary (Molly) (Robertson) and Crawford Paton.
He was the husband of Sandra (Cangiano) Paton, who survives him.
Rob earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania, and served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal in the Vietnam War. During his military service, he was a member of the U.S. Army Security Agency, and was sent to Monterey, where he studied the Chinese language.
He later worked as a consultant on projects for NASA, specializing in colorized computer imaging from space. He eventually joined his wife as a self-employed Medical Writer.
He was a member of the First Families of South Carolina, an honor conferred upon him by his mother, who was from the Guerard line.
In addition to his wife, Sandra, Rob is survived by a brother, Crawford Paton, husband of Arlene Paton, of Galt CA.
Services with full military honors will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina in June. Approximately June 22nd. A firm date and time to be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Humane Society of Berks County, PA.
