Shirley A. (Breidegam) Barry, 88, of Laureldale, passed away Tuesday, March 12th, at Rittenhouse Village, Laureldale.
Shirley was born in West Reading on June 28, 1935, a daughter of the late Lillian (Becker) and Robert Breidegam and was the widow of Gene Barry.
She worked at the former Western Electric and BRI Corporation. She was a member of the Van Reed Women's Auxilliary of Reading Hospital and Christ Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher.
Shirley is survived by her six daughters, Cheryl Knoll of Mohnton; Cindy, wife of Michael Cipar, of Sunset Beach,NC; Grace Gundrum, of Shoemakersville; Lori, wife of Roy Zuber, of Fleetwood; Kelli Pittman of Fleetwood; and Bobbi, wife of Christopher James, of Auburn. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 33 great- grand children, and 2 great great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
Shirley is survived by her brother Frank Breidegam. Predeceased by siblings Robert, Ralph, Ray, Lillian Pletz, Gloria Condos, Mary Bear, and Jackie Eschenbach.
Shirley loved spending time with her family, the casino, playing cards and bingo. She loved dancing and listening to Patsy Kline music.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Monday, March 18th at 11 Am in the John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Inc. with the Reverend Ty McMillan officiating. Interment is private at the convenience of the family. A special thanks to the Caring Hospice team for mom's care.
