Nelson Sands Obituary

Nelson R. Sands, 85, of Sinking Spring passed away Friday, March 6th, at his residence.

Nelson was born in Reading on February 7, 1941, a son of the late Ora Koch (nee Barogone). He was married to Rosemary E. Sands (nee Michalski), who survives him. They were married for 61 years.

 A member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church West Lawn, PA 19609, he worked for Sheerlund Properties, retiring in 2003. 

In addition to his wife, Rosemary, Nelson is survived by two daughters, Julia M., wife of Kevin Stokes of Reinholds, and Debra L., wife of Darren Max of Shillington, PA. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Damon and Simon Max, Madison and Kasey Stokes, along with 2 great grandchildren Isabella Max and Damon Max Jr. He was predeceased by 3 Siblings, David and Bruce Sands and Deborah Koch.

Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, March 13th from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Ignatius Loyola RC Church, 2810 St. Albans Dr., West Lawn, PA 19609. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
