Michael Holub, Jr, 94, of Wyomissing, formerly of Kenhorst, passed away Saturday, March 10th, at Columbia Cottage.
Born in Reading, PA on August 31, 1923, he was a son of the late Anna (Robach) and Michael Holub, Sr.
Michael was the widower of Rose Spolski. A member of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Reading, PA, they were married at the church on September 14, 1946 and shared 68 years together.
Michael served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. He was stationed on the U.S.S. Minos and was a part of the Liberation of the Philippines and other action in the Pacific Theatre.
He retired after working as a Tile Setter at Malsnee Tile Center for 45 years. He enjoyed Stock Car and Nascar Racing.
Michael is survived by two daughters: Susan J, wife of Salvatore Vallone, of Sinking Spring, PA; and Priscilla A., wife of Jacques Price, of Reading, PA; and a son, Dennis M. Holub, of Reading, PA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, March 14 from 9 to 10 am at Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 501 Summit Ave., Reading, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am and interment will follow at the church cemetery on route 724 in Cumru Township.
