Marie H.(Stasek) Gazavi
Marie H. Gazavi, 79, of Shillington, passed away Sunday, April 10th, at Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading.
Marie was born in Reading, PA on October 30, 1942, daughter of the late Helen D. (Hallman) and Elmer J. Stasek.
She was the wife of Adiv Gazavi. who survives her.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church Reading, PA 19602. She was a graduate of Reading Catholic High School class of 1960. Marie received her bachelor’s degree from Boston Conservatory of Music, Boston, MA and a master’s degree from Columbia University, New York, NY.
She was employed as an Elementary Teacher at Reading School District Reading, PA, retiring in 2006.
Marie is survived by her brother, Richard C, widower of Betty Stasek of Reading. She is
also survived by niece, Ann Elizabeth Foanio, wife of Anthony J. Foanio of Wyomissing, PA. and a great niece and great nephew. She was predeceased by 2 nephews, Richard C. Stasek, Jr. and Daniel J. Stasek.
Service will be held Monday, April 18th, 2022, in the Chapel at Gethsemane Cemetery Reading, PA. Friends may call from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Feeney Funeral Home where the procession to cemetery will leave at 10:45 AM. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM In the Cemetery chapel. Interment follows in Gethsemane Cemetery.
