Margaret M. (Leinenbach) Heydt Obituary

Margaret M.  (Leinenbach) Heydt, 95, formerly of Amity Street, Reading,  passed away at 4:45  PM, Thursday, July 28th, peacefully, at Berks Heim - Berks County Home. 


The widow of Leroy W Heydt, who predeceased her in 1997, They were married for 50 years. Margaret was born in New Philadelphia, PA on March 6, 1921, a daughter of the late Margaret (Brennan) and John  Leinenbach.


She was a member of St. Margaret's RC Church Reading and a volunteer at the Berks County Blind Association.


She worked as a Sorter at Berkshire Knitting Mills for 20 years and also in the office at Beaumont, Heller and Sperling for 10 years.


Margaret is survived by  her niece Helene Dooley  of Reading; Carolyn Martinez of Albequerque, New Mexico; Nephew Thomas Dooley, husband of Diane Dooley of Exeter twp.. And her friends, James Flannery, Don Greth and his wife Ann Greth and their son Bradley and Family.


She was predeceased by 2 siblings, her sister Catherine Dooley and a brother John Leinenbach.


Friends are invited to call Tuesday, August 2nd from 9 - 10 Am at St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church, 925 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial weill be celebrated at 10 AM Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery Reading, PA..


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Margaret's R.C. Church 925 Centre Avenue Reading, PA 19601.

The wife of Kenneth D. Schaeffer, who survives her,  Rita was born in Reading, PA on August 17, 1941, a daughter of the late Rita (Mullarkey) Quigg.


She is survived by  her husband, Kenneth , three daughters:  Traci A., wife of  Michael Katrinak, of Exeter Twp.; Terri A., wife of Randall Tomlinson , of Reading; Tara A., wife of  Michael Parenti, of  Reading; and a sister Darlene, wife of  Daniel Concordia, of Exeter, Twp.. 

 

She is also survived by 6 grand children ; and 8 great grandchildren.


Friends are invited to call Saturday August 6th from 10 - 11 Am. Religious Service at Feeney Funeral Home, Reading, PA, at 11 AM. Entombment at Gethsemane Cemetery at the convenience of the family.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St Jude's Childrens Home P.O. Box 50 Memphis, TN 38101.
